The dots at the end of the firsttwo lines above would normally lead usto suspect that these next two linesfollow after no great distance the first two. Not so! Thesetwo lines come from century 6, quatrain 97, thus many pages earlier

The context suggests the
New York City is not atlatitude 45 degrees, but just south of 41 degrees. One would have to go north to Minneapolis or (on the Eastcoast) to Bangor, Maine to get to 45 degrees. On the other hand, in France, Paris is just south of 49degrees, and the 45 parallel would run through southern France, the Languedocregion. I don
